Engineering floor with drawing tables and a steel sample rack

About the Steel Building Procurement Desk

Kirby Building Systems is an independent China sourcing and procurement coordination service. The original brand operates separately and has granted this service no dealership authorization. We help buyers compare pre-engineered steel building offers from China. The work begins with an RFQ brief that separates common design inputs from supplier assumptions. As bids arrive, our comparison shows which suppliers included engineering documents, secondary steel, envelope components and shipping preparation. Missing fields remain open until the bidder answers them in writing.

Comparable offers from a shared brief

The selected supplier is responsible for its manufacturing evidence. The buyer’s engineer reviews the design criteria, and the appropriate local professionals address permits and approvals. We coordinate the requests, share the records and track issues against the relevant supplier quotation.

Request a material schedule that connects steel grades and thicknesses to drawing marks. During inspection coordination, the buyer can request a sample trace from a piece mark through the heat number to the matching mill certificate. Record any broken link against that component before it is packed.

Responsibilities by party

Coating specifications should include surface preparation, coat build and target dry-film thickness in µm. Ask the supplier how it checks readings on webs, flanges and accessible edges, then agree with the buyer or inspector on the measurement and repair record.

When a truck or container is booked, compare the longest shipping piece and the heaviest bundle with the route and unloading equipment. Request a marked packing drawing when lifting points or site storage constraints affect handling.

Four records worth checking

Trace the heat

Give each supplier the same current issue of the RFQ. Keep its reply, technical exceptions and updated pricing together so an approved substitution is visible in the final scope.

Measure the coat

The workflow images show the kinds of records a buyer can ask to see. Supplier visits, sample review and third-party inspection depend on the project plan and the facilities selected for the order.

Name the lift

Ask for a procurement scope matched to the project stage. Early screening can start with a site brief. Shortlisting needs common tender inputs, while inspection coordination needs accepted drawings, named hold points and a clear reporting route.

Date the revision

A drawing without a dated revision and approver is held for clarification, even when its geometry appears complete.

The review method follows a defined hold sequence: record the jurisdiction and load basis, compare supplier exceptions, then request documentary evidence for the selected package. A sample checklist can identify how corrosion exposure changes coating specifications; it is a procurement aid, not evidence of an existing project or facility.

Documents used in sourcing reviews

Detailing desks with a portal frame model on screen
Illustrative detailing record: compare the model span with the agreed RFQ before piece marks are approved.
Weld inspection bench with fillet gauges
Illustrative inspection record: request the applicable weld procedure and gauge readings by piece mark.
Paint booth with a rafter on a trolley
Illustrative coating record: ask for readings linked to each inspected piece mark.
Sample rack of sandwich panel cores
Illustrative envelope sample set: compare core type and declared thickness, such as 50 mm to 100 mm, against the requested assembly.
Packing yard with bolted frame bundles
Illustrative packing review: compare bolted and welded frame shipping dimensions against the route limits.
Document room with transmittal shelves
Illustrative document index: transmittals should carry a project reference and revision for supplier review.

Discuss a procurement assignment

Describe the procurement assignment and the specialist evidence you need to review. The desk can coordinate requests for detailing, welding inspection, coatings or project controls against an agreed checklist. Any supplier grade or procedure must be verified for the specific order.

  • Ask prospective suppliers for a base-plate reaction table.
  • Define the applicable weld acceptance criteria before booking inspection.
  • Request the supplier’s proposed repair method for galvanized cut edges.
Submission stores a project inquiry. It does not stamp a calculation or secure a building permit. See the Privacy Policy.
